I competed the evaluation finding everything else to be operating properly in both the performance and safety aspects of the equipment. I then went over different repair options with the customers on both recommendations. Customer chose to go with HN1D and would like the options emailed over for the cleaning of the indoor air movement system. Performing the approved repair I replaced installed a performance enhancement system, replaced the voltage distribution system, voltage enhancement system, redid all wire terminals, rescued the wiring going to the refrigerant circulation pumping system, chemically washed the outdoor condenser coil, then performed a performance and safety testing.

Found system low voltage was intact, tested and verified all operations and I found the unit had a clogged drain line. Customer is going to be cleaning drain line and agreed to pay service charge.

Put in three window units for the time being until TXV is here. We found there were discrepancies within the pressures while the system was in cooling. I recovered off refrigerant pulled the refrigeration pressure control verified that it was not sealed shut. Purged the system several times with nitrogen. Installed a new filter dryer, pressure tested the system, and then brought the system back down to a proper vacuum. Once the proper vacuum was obtained and then recharge the system with 8 pounds of refrigerant and tested its operations. I found the system to be operating properly.

After further investigating the system I noticed something was on the auxiliary heating strips but couldn’t make out what it was. I removed the blower housing and found that a raccoon had gotten into the duct work. When they turned the heat on this morning it caused the burning smell and smoke they had seen. They will have to have the raccoon removed from the system and I will email over cleaning quotes as well as auxiliary heating repair quotes. I advised to remove the smell the duct system may have to be replaced. I will follow up on the repair quotes to see if they want the comfort specialist to quote duct replacement or not.

Starting with the upstairs system I found that the pressures needed to be adjusted up some. I made adjustments and found everything performing well in both the performance and safety aspects. On the downstairs systems I found that low stage was adjusted up extremely high. I brought the pressures to manufacture specifications and found everything performing well in both the performance and safety aspects. I verified the heat exchanger was not cracked from the system running to high of pressures. The mini split system I found operating properly as well.

The auxiliary heating system is currently needing replaced as over half of it is inoperable, the outdoor defrost control system should be replaced as it’s currently faulted and preventing unit operations.
