To improve indoor air quality with your HVAC system in Texas, consider these key strategies:
-
Advanced Filtration: Install high-efficiency HEPA filters to capture dust, pollen, and pet dander. The Solaris Activated Carbon / PCO Air Purifier offers multi-technology filtration for comprehensive air cleaning.
-
UV Light Technology: Incorporate UV lights to kill bacteria, viruses, and mold spores. Brands such as REME HALO and Solaris uses UVLED technology for energy-efficient germicidal treatment.
-
Humidity Control: Use whole-home dehumidifiers to prevent mold growth in Texas's humid climate. During drier months, consider humidifiers to maintain optimal levels.
-
Air Purification Systems: Invest in systems like the Solaris PCO Air Purifier, which combines UV light, photocatalytic oxidation, and ionization to improve air quality at molecular and microscopic levels.
-
Ventilation: Ensure proper air circulation with mechanical ventilation and regular window opening during milder seasons.
-
Regular Maintenance: Schedule professional HVAC servicing twice yearly, replace filters monthly, and clean ducts, coils, and drain pans.
-
Carbon Monoxide Detection: Install CO detectors for safety, especially if you have gas appliances.
-
Air Balancing: Eliminate hot and cold spots to improve overall HVAC efficiency and air distribution.
By implementing these measures, you can create a healthier living environment, reduce allergens, and improve overall comfort in your Texas home or business.

Today I arrived in Elgin and met with the homeowner. He made me aware of concerns with the outdoor heat pump being very loud in defrost and a specific noise it makes in defrost. I placed unit in heating mode after about 15 minutes I hooked up to it outside and monitored pressures and the amperage of the compressor. Amperage was normal and the pressures indicated good operation of pressure control valve. I then had Bernard stand by window (inside) and record the unit going into defrost (forced defrost). I observed the change in pressures, and amperage during and coming out of the defrost cycle. Noise, pressures and amperage were all within range and of normal characteristics. Bernard had stated system was not as loud as it typically is from his concern he also said it will be much louder below 32 ambient. Gene's work is excellent! He is professional, technically competent, and personable. He explains what he is doing and what he finds. He is a great representative of your company.
Gene is our new service tech … very professional and knowledgeable!
Our tech Gene A was timely and well groomed. A text was sent ahead of his arrival to identify him with a picture. He came prepared with foot covers to protect our floors. He had a good sense of humor (he agreed to accept that our dog was the cause of our thermostat problems). He was well versed in this type of thermostat. He was very thorough by also checking our outside unit and also offered to check out the inside unit over our garage. Most important he came on the next day so we would not be without AC during a super hot Texas day
Very professional, prompt, and knowledgeable. I was very pleased with the service and will use them in the future.
Did a good job explaining options, completing the service and explaining the new thermostat
CenTex always does an outstanding job of explaining what has managed to go wrong with your AC. In August. Of course. How do these guys keep their cool when working in the heat and dealing with grumpy customers? Top notch.
Gustavo was quick and efficient. After a short visit my AC was back up and running perfectly. He also seemed to recognize that I was working from home and kept the noise level to a minimum.
Excellent service!
Found a short in the wires quickly. Did a great job and didn’t try replace the whole unit due to minor issue.
These guys know their stuff! We needed an entirely new system, and they provided us with several options. The installation crew was great and very professional. I would highly recommend Centex to anyone who needs a new system or overall maintenance.
